Free Beer Wedding Band:

Free Beer Wedding Band Limerick are described as Ireland’s Floor Filling Wedding Band. They are a six piece wedding band based around Limerick, Cork and Galway. They are well known throughout Limerick and the south west having been on the band scene for almost 20 years. The were one of the first live bands to play the very popular Limerick music venue – Smyths. Certainly one of their best attributes is the vast setlist they have and their ability to change the style or pace of the music easily. I have worked with this wedding band for several years. Kerry Wedding DJ Setup:

One of the great things about the Killarney Oaks is that we, as DJs and bands are spoilt for space when it comes to setup. Furthermore, the route for loading in the equipment is right beside the setup area. There is no trying to move guests or tables to get the equipment in place. Although this is great for us, it is also great for the wedding night. It means the setup time is greatly reduced and the break between the meal and entertainment is reduced. The flow of the evening is not disrupted by a lengthy wait for a first dance.

I arrive and setup at the start of the evening with the band. The aim is to arrive for 8/8.30 and be ready to load in the equipment once the meal is over. Usually in the Oaks I setup to the right hand side of the stage alongside the band. There are a few reasons for this. It means that the band and myself are completely separate to one another. We are not intruding on each other. The separation means that later in the evening when the band are done they can easily take away their equipment without disrupting my DJ set. As well as that it also means that I can start as soon as the band finish, allowing for an easy change over from band to DJ. The atmosphere in the room is maintained and no loss of flow to the evening.

Equipment:

When booking Kerry Wedding DJ Paudie Walsh included in all packages is the equipment. There is no additional charge for the sound and light equipment used on the night. This includes a professional grade speaker system large enough for the size of the function room in the Oaks. As well as that, the lighting and DJ booth are also included. The lighting is there to brighten up the dance floor and set the mood for the night. A nice light up DJ booth hides all the cables from view. This type of setup can be ready and in place in about 30 minutes or so once access to the room has been gained. For an after band wedding set this isn’t too important as the band will be playing first so there is plenty of time to setup. However, if it was a full night wedding DJ booking the time between meal and first dance is greatly reduced. There is no long wait time for you and your guests.

Kerry Wedding DJ Playlist:

Closer to the wedding date I usually chat with couples about the music on the night and what they would like for their Wedding DJ Playlist. As a rule of thumb, the music on the night is a mix of everything. For an after band DJ set, it is party time. Usually the start time is somewhere around midnight so at that stage people are ready to dance. As the setup and DJ is there from the start the DJ gets a chance to watch the crowd and see how they react. If you have a wedding band that play a mix of all styles it will be very easy to see what works and what doesn’t work as well. If there are specific songs that you would like included or discluded that can all be discussed prior the night.

Finally, the DJ will play music that works and fills the dance floor. I use my experience to judge the crowd on the night. Having done this so many times I can pick up very easily what will work. Or what doesn’t work. When we finalise the details for the night we can chat about music. There are no right or wrong songs to play. It depends on the guests on the night. From the video below you can possibly see that it was generally a young wedding. Songs from the chart and 90’s dance classics worked really well. Kerry Wedding DJ – When to book:

There is no right and wrong answer here. If you see entertainment you like, then go ahead and book it. Availability for prime dates can book fast. In demand entertainment will get snapped up. Dates over the Summer including Bank Holiday weekends should be booked 18 months plus to guarantee good quality entertainment. Most entertainment suppliers require a deposit. This will secure the date for your wedding. Different suppliers have different deposit requirements. Most will have a contract in place upon booking. It is important to get something in writing from any supplier. Booking so far in advance you want everything clear. The price and times need to be noted for clarity. On or before the night the balance is paid.

I have also played a number of full night wedding DJ sets in the Oaks. As well as that, many after band DJ sets with Truly Diverse Wedding Band Kerry. A question that often comes up at the time of booking is Wedding DJ Cost Ireland. How much does your services cost? Luckily I am based 50 minutes from Killarney. The cost is greatly reduced as there are no travel charges.

The Setup – Kerry Wedding DJ:

I arrive and setup at the start of the evening once the dinner is over. If there is no band and I am playing the full evening I usually setup where the top table is, just at the foot of the dance floor. If there is a band playing first I will setup alongside them just beside the door to the balcony area. With the equipment setup I have it allows me to adapt to different spaces without losing quality. I provide everything that is needed for the night including all the sound and light equipment. I don’t require anything additional to be provided (only the power from the hotel, of course!). No hidden equipment hire charges or anything like that. Below is an example setup for an after band wedding set in Ballyseede Castle. You can see a nice appealing setup with sound, light and DJ booth all sitting nice beside the balcony door.

The Timeline:

Generally in Ballyseede Castle I aim to arrive at 8.30pm to be ready to set up once the meal is over. After the hotel staff have the space cleared I load in the equipment and setup. With or without a band I am ready to start before the first dance, usually around 9.30pm. My aim is to start a full evening reception around 9.30/9.45pm and with a short break for food and playing right through to 2am. If a band are playing first I would hope to start around midnight and play to 2am without any break in music. As I am setup before the band start there is no down time, no loss in music or atmosphere once the band finish. It is a smooth transition from band to DJ.

Wedding DJ Music:

For this wedding, the majority of the crowd were aged 25-40. The wedding couple had not asked for anything in particular so from watching the guests while the band played and judging what I saw I was able to put a setlist together. The 90’s dance music is a huge floor filler at weddings and it really went down a storm at this one. To balance it and add something different I included a few rock classics towards the end and the guys (groom included) had the ties around their head. Really great photo! I think the end of the night was the highlight and even the bride mentioned it in the testimonial after. The sing song was absolutely epic and it had everyone on the floor. Even the hotel turning on the lights couldn’t stop them. The groom was a big Liverpool fan and had asked for “Never Walk Alone”. I followed it up with one or two more and it had everyone in good spirits for the residence bar.

For this night Free Beer Wedding Band from Limerick played the first half of the nights entertainment and I partied into the small hours with the guests. The bride from West Cork and groom from Limerick danced into the night their 150 guests. The band played a great mix of party Irish, rock n roll and country music. I started with a few well known party classics into the 90s dance classics and some 90s hip hop. The Ac/Dc rock and Irish dancing went down a storm towards the end. I finished with a great song from Take That called Never Forget. It has a great chorus and everyone sang along. It was an ideal way to finish and put everyone in good form for the residents bar.

Top tip for booking the best wedding DJ in Kerry:

When emailing an enquiry be sure to include – date, venue and what you would like in terms of times etc. I get a huge number of enquiries without some of this information and it can be difficult to know what information people want. I am also always available via mobile and can answer any questions people have. Usually a 5/10 minute phone conversation can be a quick way to making sure you have all the information you need to book.

I have been a Kerry Wedding DJ in Killarney at many weddings but this function was a local neighbor who got married. There were a lot of familiar faces at the wedding including some of my own family (no added pressure). J90 Wedding Band from Cork played the first half of the nights entertainment and had the floor full from the very start. The wedding had a wide range of ages to cater for with many different tastes in music. After speaking with the couple about the music they had no specific requests only to keep everyone dancing. I played a good mix of songs from a local nightclub that would have been well known to the couple as well as many of the guests attending. Looking at the couples testimonial after they said it was like them being back in their teenage disco days!

The Groom for this wedding was all the way from Cavan and the Bride was local to Tralee, travelling from Knocknagoshel. They had The Suite Wedding Band, who really got the floor full from the very start. I played a mix of modern music to suit the younger guests as well as some 80s anthems for the young at heart. I even managed to sneak in some Bruce Springsteen near the end for all the guests to sing a long to.

Top Tip for Booking A Wedding DJ in Killarney:
Be sure to ask the DJ if they have worked in the venue previously. It is great peace of mind to know that the DJ has worked there before and is familiar with the venue. They will know where they can carry in equipment, where to set it up and the curfew times of the venue. Often the Manager on duty will know the regular DJs and they find it a lot easier to liaise with a someone they are familiar with. This relieves any pressure and ensures the night runs smooth.

As the afterband DJ I was able to speed it up and get the celebration really started. Edward and Linda had sent on some suggestions prior the date but left much of the choice to me.
