The wedding band on the night were Truly Diverse Wedding Band . They are brilliant work with and I always look forward to seeing them. Truly Diverse are a Kerry Wedding band, mostly based in Killarney.

Wedding DJs in Limerick Music:

For music on the night I played a mix of up tempo 80s – chart. At the time, George Ezra’s – Paradise was proving a really big floor filler. A few cheesy numbers creeped in there too. When booking a Limerick wedding DJ it is really important to chat with the DJ in advance about music. Generally, when I am playing a wedding I find a good mix works best. If a couple have some suggestions they are always welcomed. We will fill in a planner form in advance of the day to ensure I get all the necessary information from you. There is a big section on the planner which relates to music.

Emma and Tom, the Bride and Groom, left most of the music up to me on the night and some of the guests requested songs. I had played a few of their friend’s weddings previously. Being setup I started as soon as the band finished with a smooth transition. There was no down time or wait around. The atmosphere built up by the band wasn’t lost. The two clips below (apologies for mobile phone quality) just show some of the fun from the night. This was coming towards the end of the night and I was playing some of the party hits that every guest will know. These songs near the end will ensure all the guests are on the floor and having a good time. Some even decided to make a train around the dance floor to get some people who were sitting down to join them on the dance floor. The Irish dancing/Riverdance songs are a popular request with couples. It makes sure the guests can let loose, or dance on a chair depending on their preference. 😉

Top Tip For Hiring Wedding DJs in Limerick:
Find out where the DJ is based. It is often better if a band or DJ don’t have to travel far to reach the venue. I am based in Limerick city and many venues are only a short 15/20 minute drive from home. This is great peace of mind that they won’t get delayed or lost on route. It also means they will have probably worked in the venue previously, know the function manager and it will make for a far smoother evening.

The couple for this wedding had seen me previously at a friend’s wedding and knew exactly the style of music I played. It was a big wedding with almost 350 guests. There was a wide variety of ages to suit. The band played a good mix of waltz and jive sets to suit some of the older guests which went down very well. It is important to ensure the entertainment is to suit all ages. The last thing you want to happen at a wedding is for older guests such as Aunts or Uncles to feel left out.

Once it came time for me to start the party was well started. I played a mix of 80s/90s/00s and chart along with a few Clubland style tracks that the Bride and Groom had requested. I finished off the night with some party classics and sing a long songs to have everyone ready for the residents bar.

Top Tip for Booking A Wedding DJ In Limerick:

If you are booking a wedding DJ to play after the band ask them to arrive and setup at the start of the evening with the band. This ensures there is no disruption later on in the evening trying to bring in more equipment. It also means the DJ is there and ready once the band finish. There will be no break between the band finishing and DJ starting. Any delay or break will lose the atmosphere in the room and the full dance floor will disappear quickly.
