When it comes to a Cork Wedding DJ, I have played all the top wedding venues in Cork city and County. This Summer wedding is in one of my favorite West Cork wedding venues, Dunmore House. The hotel is located just outside Clonakilty on the shores of Clonakilty Bay, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel offers amazing views from the function room which holds up to 300 wedding guests. There is also a 9 hole golf course set on the hill side alongside the hotel. All in all – it is an amazing setting for a wedding venue.
I started as soon as the band finished and immediately played some floor filling 1980’s including Footloose. It is a brilliant song universal with young and old guests. I included some of the 90s dance classics to bring everyone back to their younger days. A request from the Bride was some Westlife for her and some of her college friends. It went down brilliantly and had everyone singing along. The dance floor was full from the very start of the night to the last song with some guests shouting for more as I played the last song.
Since that booking I have had many friends and family of the couple booking and recommending me for their own wedding. I play regularly down in West Cork in others venues too including – Inchydoney Hotel, Fernhill House, The Maritime, Lissard Estate, Blair’s Cove and many others.
Top Tip for Booking a Cork Wedding DJ:
Be sure to ask a DJ what type of music they generally play at a wedding. Personally the music I play changes from wedding to wedding. My main aim is to keep the dance floor full and everyone enjoying themselves. There are always party songs that work but often it has to be changes to suit the full floor. If you have some do’s and don’ts be sure to talk to the DJ about them. However, I would advise to leave as much of the song selection to the DJ. At the end of the day, you are booking a DJ for their expertise and experience. If you have a good, experienced wedding DJ booked they will know what will work and what won’t.
